About
Where the setting actually is
Family Tech Sorted helps UK parents set up parental controls on the devices already in their home: broadband, phones, tablets, consoles and apps. We assume you are busy, you are not technical, and you have never been shown where the settings are. That is not a failing. The menus are buried and they keep moving.
Who is behind it
One tech-savvy dad, helping other parents get these settings sorted. There is no company behind the site and no team, just someone who knows where the menus are and writes it down so you do not have to hunt for it.
How the guides are made
Every guide is checked on a real device or account, and says exactly what it was checked against and when. We use the provider's or manufacturer's own pages as the source, and a guide that has not been checked is not published.
Settings are only part of it
Every setting we show is a safety net. None of them replaces talking with your children, or setting clear boundaries and rules together with them. We say so in every guide, because that is the part that lasts.
What we will not do
- Frighten you into acting. The guides are calm and in plain English.
- Promise that a setting keeps a child safe. None does, and every guide says so.
- Recommend hidden monitoring. We cover open, age-appropriate controls you can talk about with your child.
How the site is funded
The site is free to read. If we ever carry adverts or link to a product we earn from, we will say so clearly, and a guide with affiliate links says so at the very top. Read theaffiliate disclosure.
